First Deployment, Day 1
Appropriately enough, it rained torrentially today. Many here said they had never seen it rain off and on quite as hard as it did. I say "appropriately" because today is the first day of my husband's deployment. Now, more than doing paperwork around the greater part of Hampton Roads and central Virginia, more than packing the Ensign's seabag ("you can use the other seabag," he said ... no need, I fit it all into just one! ;) ), Navy Wife indoc has begun.
I am currently in the middle of AOB/ICR (Area Orentation ... of the Base?/Inter Cultural Relations), and so I must dash. But a quick note on the title of the blog:
Sakura no Ai - the Sakura is the Japanese cherry blossom. Among other things, it is a symbol of love and purity. And just to make it more clear, "no Ai" means "of love". Because it was the first sappy Japanese phrase that popped to mind. I didn't care for it, but could not shake it.
Itchy Nissan - this is how my husband remembers the first three numbers in Chinese (which the Japanese also use) ichi, ni, and san.
Both titles were silly, so I slapped 'em together. Ta-da, the blog!
Enjoy.
